Toronto’s film industry just got a new toy. Phase one of Filmport Studios has opened along the waterfront, promising to provide everything filmmakers need for blockbuster and small budget movies, in an effort to boost Toronto’s faltering film industry.

TORONTO (AP) _ Movies featuring Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Kate Beckinsale, Edward Norton and Colin Farrell and a documentary about Paris Hilton have joined the lineup for the Toronto International Film Festival.

Allie Hartwick, a 2004 East Aurora High School graduate, will soon see if she has what it takes to “make it big” in the television and film industry. Hartwick, who has found success in the last few years acting and performing in Toronto, will now be tested on the big screen with her upcoming appearance on Canada’s popular game show, “Test the Nation.”
