OTTAWA - A new study reports Canadian cinemas entertained more moviegoers and were much more profitable in 2006. Statistics Canada says cinemas, including indoor theatres, drive-ins and film festivals, sold 102.9 million tickets in 2006, up 1.9 per cent from 101.0 million the year before.
